Marketing, Communications & Creative Direction

Over multiple roles, I’ve lead creative direction and strategic communications to build brand awareness, drive traffic, increase engagement and share organizations’ meaningful stories. Whether it’s directing and producing a video series from conception to delivery; writing eye-catching press releases and memorable speeches; redeveloping a marketing strategy; or finding the story that will drive business forward, I’ve done it.

Downtown Raleigh Alliance

As Director of Marketing & Communications, I developed and executed all strategic marketing and communications at Downtown Raleigh’s placemaking management organization. This included creating 15+ marketing and communications plans, writing & disseminating 25+ press releases (leading to 50+ news stories), leading the organization’s COVID-19 response, growing social media following by 20% and assisting downtown’s nearly 400 storefront businesses with marketing strategy, planning and brand development.

Below are some of my favorite creations and most notable successes from my tenure.

Our Story, Our Downtown

Downtown Raleigh Alliance's Annual State of Downtown event celebrates individuals, businesses and organizations whose contributions are making a significant impact on downtown's success. As part of the event, attendees hear the latest market analysis and trends of Raleigh's Central Business District shared through compelling data, visuals and stories.

As part of the 2019 event - Our Story, Our Downtown - 10 notable Raleighites shared their stories either live on stage or through video interviews of why they chose Downtown Raleigh to call home, do business and grow.

Brian Hamilton Foundation

In my work as Creative Director with Brian Hamilton Foundation, I personally filmed, edited and produced over 20 short films of individuals enrolled in the organization’s entrepreneurship classes, as well as directed and produced a 10-hour online entrepreneurship course called Starter U. This included organizing and directing the filming of four instructors; identifying and interviewing over 15 local entrepreneurs; and editing down more than 40 hours of visual content, as well as conceiving, directing and producing a trailer for the course.

Due to a contract agreement, I am not able to share my work from this organization on my personal site, however, you may view my work at the following links:
